Honoring Glynn Carverโ€™s Legacy

Honoring Glynn Carverโ€™s Legacy

The Toledo Bend Lake Association (TBLA) is proud to offer Fishing Scholarships to support students who have a connection to Toledo Bend Lake. The Glynn Carver Memorial Scholarship was established to honor Glynn Carverโ€™s life, achievements, and lasting impact on the lake and its surrounding communities. His vision and leadership helped shape Toledo Bend, benefiting residents, businesses, and visitors for over 50 years. Glynn believed in education and recognized its lifelong benefits.

The scholarship fund honors Glynnโ€™s legacy and inspires future students to contribute to the Toledo Bend community and beyond.

The scholarship is administered and funded* by Toledo Bend Lake Association and awarded in a minimum amount of $3,000. Additional private donations may increase the award. Last year, the Toledo Bend Lake Association awarded a total of $6,000 for the Glynn Carver Memorial Scholarship, as well as two additional Toledo Bend Lake Association Scholarships of $3,000 and $1,000.

The Glynn Carver Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a graduating from high school senior or an enrolled college student who resides, has resided in, or has spent significant time enjoying Toledo Bend Lake.

Candidates are evaluated based on their scholastic record, economic need, field of study, and essay submission. The field of study is not limited, but preference is given to students pursuing careers in wildlife or fisheries sciences that could benefit Toledo Bend or similar environments. The Scholarship Committee will also consider applicants studying general science, marketing, engineering, medical, or environmental fields.
