Aquatic Education Day

TBLA volunteers spent three days with local children from Sabine Parish hosting a 5th grade fishing clinic. It was COLD and WINDY for sure, but they helped the kids catch fish and turtles. One little girl caught her first fish ever.

Commitment to Toledo Bend Communities

The Toledo Bend Lake Association (TBLA) is dedicated to enhancing the Toledo Bend Lake area and the communities that surround it. Funds raised through the Bass Unlimited Banquet, along with volunteer efforts, are used to sponsor important local community development projects.

Contributions to Local Organizations

Funded lighting upgrades at the Hemphill, TX Library and East Sabine Nutritional Center.
Contributed funds to support the Sabine Parish Humane Society.
Funded high school fishing teams in the area.
Provided scholarships for high school students active in fishing clubs and 4H.
Partnered with Louisiana Wildlife to support the Sabine Parish 5th Grade Fishing Clinic.
Joined the Louisiana Adopt-A-Road Program to pick up litter along a section of Highway 191.

Beautifying the Toledo Bend Entrance

Toledo Bend Lake Association provided a $20,000 grant to the Sabine Tourist Commission for gateway signage and landscaping at the LA Hwy 6 and Hwy 191 intersection. This project was completed through a collaboration between TBLA, the Sabine Tourist Commission, SRA of Louisiana, Sabine Parish Detention Center volunteers, and other community volunteers. With thousands of visitors each year, this beautification effort created a welcoming first impression and helped set the stage for Toledo Bend’s 50-year celebration in 2019.
